Aluminum Windows
If your main concern is an affordable, durable window then aluminum is your best bet. Aluminum is a sturdy and lightweight metal and has strong resistance to corrosion, increasing the window’s overall longevity. Energy efficient aluminum windows use a separator of low thermal conductivity material between the inner and outer frames to prevent the temperature outside from transferring through the frame to the inside, thus enabling a reasonable insulation factor. All windows are available in clear or Low-E reflective glass and come standard with screens. Divided light grid patterns are available.
Vinyl Windows
While vinyl windows are a little more expensive, they provide significantly improved insulation and require virtually no maintenance. Vinyl windows are manufactured out of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) that has an outstanding insulation rating, keeping heat out in warm climates and cold out in colder ones. Our energy efficient vinyl windows save you money on fuel costs. All windows come with high performance Low-E reflective glass which qualifies for a government tax credit rebate of up to $500; an added bonus to the insulation of your home and your wallet!
Vinyl windows are already finished and sealed so there is no up front finishing required, and they are resistant to dents, scratches, mold, stains and UV rays. All windows are available in clear or various degrees of Low-E reflective glass and come standard with screens. Divided light grid patterns are available.

Single Pane vs. Double Pane Glass
Single-Pane Glass
A single pane provides only a thin glass barrier to the outside which can account for considerable heat loss and gain. Thus, single pane glass offers little insulating value (R-0.85).
Double-Pane Glass
Double pane windows are vastly superior insulators. What makes double pane glass such a successful insulator, in part, lies not in the glass itself, but in the space between the two panes. This space, filled with air, creates a stabilized air space or buffer between the window's exterior and interior glass panels. The double pane clear glass insulating value is (R-2.0), which compared to the above is a significant improvement.

Low-E: an upgraded glass
- An impressive scientific advancement in solar control glass is Low-E, a tinted glass that controls glare, blocks excessive solar gain and maintains proven year around comfort.
- Regular glass works by absorbing sunlight and it gets hot. Low-E is a coating that is applied to clear glass to improve performance. It blocks visible light for glare control, reflects invisible solar heat and because it has a low-emittance coating the glass stays comfortable all year long – cool in the summer, warm in the winter.
Low-E reflective glass comes in three varieties:
- Standard Low-E reflective glass - coating on interior glass panel with air in between the two glass panels.
- Low-E with Argon - reflective coating on interior glass panel with Argon gas fill instead of air between the two glass panels.
- Super Low-E - reflective coating on BOTH interior and exterior glass panels with Argon gas fill between both panels.

Window Options
Use energy efficient windows to reduce carbon emissions
Sunlight comes through windows in a visible and invisible spectrum. The light we see spans the spectrum from red through blue and violet. The light we cannot see is infrared and ultraviolet, that’s what fades drapery, furniture, carpets and floors. Low-E (Low Emissivity) is a thin metallic coating on the interior surface of the glass that reduces ultraviolet transmission and the transmission of radiated heat, thus reducing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer.
Our standard Low-E window is #5527 three-coat Low-E on the outside pane. A step above this is Argon Gas filled dual pane and above this is the Super Solar which includes both of the preceding. Soon to come is will be our R5 energy core , a triple pane option from MI windows.

Solar Screens
- Leaving a window unprotected will allow most of the sun's rays to enter your home and radiate throughout your home. Solar Screens can reduce up to 90% of this radiation effect by stopping the sun’s rays when hitting your window before entering your home. This also reduces the load on your air conditioner and reduces fading on upholstery and furniture.
- The US Department of Energy states that exterior shading devices are about 50% more effective than internal devices at blocking solar heat. It has been proven that shading your windows and doors from the outside can reduce inside temperatures by as much as 20-30 degrees because shading from the inside via tinting, shades or blinds still allows the sun’s rays to enter your home and thus warm the interior.

Broken Glass or Screens and Our Service
Broken windows are hazardous in any home. We’ll come to your home or office, measure your windows and screens for an exact fit, and give you a quote the same day. If you have dual pane glass in your home and it’s not Low-E, we can change out the old inefficient glass for High Efficiency Energy Saving Low-E glass.
We can also install the highest quality Solar Screens to further cool your home. We carry Suntex solar screens 80 and 90 in a variety of colors. We can also re-screen or replace your existing bug screens. We are bonded and fully insured.
