The Younger Brothers Concrete story begins even before its doors opened, emerging from a shared vision of developing a better way to build a home.
Today’s leading homebuilder in eight states, Shea Homes has always been committed to investing in its associates and trade contractors, referred to as TradePartners. Together, with its TradePartners and a process improvement consultant, Shea Homes formed the Shea Virtual Organization which worked to develop a better, more efficient home building process.
Beginning with improving the first phase of home building − layout to frame complete, including concrete, plumbing and framing − their efforts resulted in higher quality, improved cycle time and greater customer satisfaction.
When the concrete trade Shea Homes had worked with for years sold the business, the organization’s Arizona Division President asked Jim Younger to consider starting a concrete company to replace the one that was leaving.
Given the years of investment into their Virtual Organization and trade contractor training, Shea saw a higher potential for success working with a concrete contractor within the Shea Organization. Younger embraced this new opportunity, and Younger Brothers Concrete was born in 2003.
We are proud to say that we continue our work with Shea Homes today, providing a bundled package of plumbing, concrete and framing, building homes from layout to frame complete.
Younger Brothers Concrete now provides these services to many builders, while still remaining committed to our vision to continuously improve our processes and deliver a better product.
