After roughly 18 years of developing and expanding his thriving framing company, Jim Younger was ready to make an important move. He’d long been thinking about ways in which he could serve his customers better, achieve more control over product quality and lower costs, so in 1993 he launched Younger Brothers Trusses and began offering wall panels in 1997, ushering in a new era of Younger Brothers’ turnkey service offerings.
Jim understood then what the SBCA (Structural Building Components Association) proved in 1996: Building with components (prefabricated roof trusses, floor trusses and wall panels) is the most time- and cost-effective way to build solid, precision engineered, high-quality structures. Builders using components, rather than the traditional ‘stick’ building method, have reported an up to 63% reduction in man hours and an overall savings of nearly 16%
The U.S. NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) agrees that using components accelerates the framing process, thereby cutting down on labor costs and potential accidents. Furthermore, our prefabricated products are produced with cutting-edge technology in a factory-controlled environment, which ensures both consistency and quality, while minimizing weather damage and theft that can occur with unassembled materials left at the job site. And, manufactured components cut down significantly on waste, which makes them eco friendly (as recognized by the NAHB’s National Green Building Standard), as well as cost effective.
The name Younger Brothers has become synonymous with superb craftsmanship and rigorous standards over the years, and the products produced by Younger Brothers Components are no exception. In addition to our continued use of the latest technologies, devising our own innovations and adhering to our own stringent guidelines, we participate in TPI’s (Truss Plate Institute) Third Party Quality Assurance Inspection Program, so you can rest assured that we deliver the best components available anywhere.
The only thing as exceptional as our products is our service. No matter how large or small the job, or how unusual your plans, our expert truss and panel design team will work with you to make your vision a reality. We also maintain our own fleet of delivery trucks and roll-off trailers, so your materials will always arrive on time, in excellent shape and properly placed. About Richard Kocks, General Manager of Younger Brothers Components:
Trusses and Panels
I’m Richard Kocks, General Manager of Younger Brothers’ Components division. You can say I kind of grew up in a truss plant. My father was General Manager of a company called Arizona Truss for over 25 years. When I was younger, I would tag along with him to work every chance I got. I started my career in the Components industry in 1997 working night shifts while attending college during the day. I have held nearly every position in a truss plant. In 2004, the opportunity arose to join the Younger Brothers team. I jumped at the chance and eventually became General Manager. I am proud to be a part of such a great company and work alongside the best in the industry.
